John Christopher Halterman

SOUTH BEND - John C. Halterman, 76, of 1626 Davis Place, North Las Vegas, NV, died April 2nd in Las Vegas.
John was the son of the late Christopher Columbus Halterman and Mary Margaret (Purucker) Halterman. He graduated from John Adams High School in 1950, attended Western Michigan from 1951-1953, served in the Army from 1953-1955, and was employed by the Mossberg Printing Company from 1957 until retiring in 1995. He loved bowling and Kino. He ushered for Notre Dame football from 1960 to 1979.
Survivors include a brother, James (Jaynee) Halterman; four children, Cheri Davis of Largo, FL, Karen Spindler (Dietmar) of Granger, Edward Halterman of Los Angeles, CA, and Kevin Halterman of Mishawaka; grandchildren, Nicole Rudd, Jill Gillis and Ian Spindler; two great-grandchildren, Aaron Boyton and Evan Rudd; two nephews, Jim Halterman and Mike Halterman; and nieces, Diane Morrow, Susan Halterman, Cathy Halterman and Nancy Dallich.
There will be a Mass at St. Monica's in Mishawaka at 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 23, 2009.
