Marian E. Hulbert (Kvale)

Marian E. Kvale

Jul. 31, 1932 - Jan. 22, 2021

Marian E. Kvale, 88, of College Station, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on January 22, 2021. A service will be held at 3 pm on January 28, 2021 at Hillier of College Station. A graveside at College Station Memorial Cemetery will follow.

Marian was born on July 31, 1932, in South Bend, Indiana, to her parents, Gleason and Gladys Hulbert. She spent her childhood growing up in South Bend with her brother, Glen, and sister, Betty Lou. Marian had humble beginnings, growing up during the great depression, but she always had a generous and joyful heart.

After completing high school Marian went to college at Purdue University and Bethel College. She later got her master's degree from Indiana University. Marian used her degree to pursue a career in teaching. She taught elementary school for many years and was an amazing teacher. She even won teacher of the year at her school, one of her proudest accomplishments.

In Marian's free time you could find her reading newspapers and magazines, shopping, and going out to eat, but her favorite pastime was traveling and spending quality time with her family. She was a very social woman and enjoyed the company of those she loved. Her family will always remember the trips she took with them on the South Shore Interurban Railroad from South Bend to Chicago. Her family will always cherish the memory of the trip they took to Disney World.

Marian was also a woman of great faith. She was devoted to the Lord and regularly attended church at River Park Church in South Bend, Indiana. She was always known for her kind nature, Christian values, love for angels, and her deep love for her dogs.

The memories of Marian will be remembered by her daughter, Leslie Ross, and husband Joseph; and grandson Steven Ross; and granddaughter Jessica Ross. Marian is reunited in heaven with her parents, Gleason and Gladys Hulbert; siblings, Glen Hulbert and Betty Lou Hartman; and niece, Pamela Hartman.

The family would like to say a special thank you to the Comfort Keepers of College Station for their great care and support of Marian during her time of need.
