SOUTH BEND – Lorraine A. Fodness, 66, formerly of North Scott Street, died at 10:55 a.m. Wednesday in Healthwin Hospital. Mrs. Fodness retired as a registered nurse and was employed at Memorial Hospital, Healthwin Hospital and the South Bend Clinic.
She was born Feb. 20, 1925, in Mishawaka and was a lifelong area resident. On Sept. 14, 1946, in South Bend, as Lorraine Cappert, she married Clifford V. Fodness. He died in 1987.
She is survived by a daughter, Cheryl A. Harmon of Gahanna, Ohio; three sons, David A. and Scott A., both of South Bend, and William J. of Grafton, VA.; six grandchildren; a sister, Mary Buckingham of Mirimar, Fla.; and a brother, Phillip Cappert of Mishawaka.
She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Christ the King Catholic Church. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in Welsheimer Funeral Home, 17033 Cleveland Road.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association of Northern Indiana.
