KOKOMO - Betty Ruth Hodgson, 84, of Kokomo, Indiana, formerly of South Bend passed away at 3:35 AM Wednesday August 5, 2009 at Waterford Place. She was born on February 15, 1925 in Mishawaka, IN to Earl E. and Cleah (Kimble) Fahler.

On July 22, 1945 at River Park Methodist Church, she married Charles T. Hodgson. He passed away on February 8, 1998. Betty retired from Sears and Roebuck in South Bend in 1974 where she worked for approximately 9 years. She graduated from John Adams High School in 1943. She was a member of Beta Chi Sorority and the Sub Deb Club. Betty enjoyed sewing, knitting, and camping.

Survivors include a son, R. Tom Hodgson of Fox Lake, IL; one daughter Norma Tate and husband (Timothy) of Kokomo; one grandson, Troy Tate and his wife (Leanna) of Russiaville; one Granddaughter Tina Buch and her husband (Jason) of Russiaville; and four great grandchildren, Bretta Tate, Madison Tate, Rose Buch, and Anna Buch. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday August 10, 2009 at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park 16460 Cleveland Road in Granger, IN. Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park. Friends may call from 4 - 6 PM Sunday at Stout & Son Funeral Home Russiaville Chapel 200 E. Main St. Russiaville, and 10:30 - 11:00 AM Monday at the Chapel in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park in Granger, IN.
