Herbert Lee Joslin

NEW CARLISLE - Mr. Lee Joslin, 83, of New Carlisle, died at 10 AM, on June 18, 2009 at LaPorte Hospital, after a brief illness. Mr. Joslin was born December 23, 1925, in Linkville, IN, to Herbert L. and Virginia (Smith) Joslin, Sr.

On October 13, 1951 in LaPorte he married Doris Kimmel who preceded him on October 31, 1989. He was a resident of Hudson Lake, IN., for most of his lifetime. He was a Pipe Fitter (Local 172), and he worked and retired from Powers Regulator in Skokie, IL. He was a proud member of the Pipe Fitters Union Local #172, a Merchant Marine Member and a member of the American Legion (New Carlisle, Post 297). He was the greatest "Daddy" in the world.

He leaves behind three daughters, Jill Joslin of Lafayette, IN, Jan (Bill) Mc Kee of LaPorte and Lynne (Leon) Meyers of Hudson Lake, IN; and one son, Scott (Charyl) Joslin, of Louisville, KY; eight grandchildren, Ryan Mrozinske, Beau Joslin, Leigh Walker, Tyler Meyers, Ali Meyers, Bridgette Joslin, Brandon Joslin and Joshua Meyers, six great grandchildren; a sister, Darlene Curtis of Ocean Springs, Mississippi and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded by his parents, wife, Doris, a grandson, Shawn Walker and a brother, Jack Joslin and a niece, Jackie Kluender.

A Funeral Service will be held Monday, June 22nd. At 7 p.m. (Central Time) at Essling Funeral Home, with Deacon Christopher Hawkins officiating. Visitation will be held Monday, June 22 from 3 to 7 p.m. (Central Time) in Essling Funeral Home. Burial will be at Swan Lake Cemetery, there will be a private family burial. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society , 601 W. Edison Road, South Bend, IN., 46617. Arrangements are being handled by Essling Funeral Home.
