Theresa C. Mester, 91, passed away on Sunday, April 9, 2017 in West Bend Nursing Facility.

Theresa was born October 31, 1925 in South Bend to the late Clarence and Grace (Probst) Goheen. On February 7,1948 Theresa married the love of her life Nicholas Mester, who preceded her in death on March 14, 2008. Theresa was also preceded in death by her brothers, Edmund and Daniel Goheen; sisters, Anita Greenwood, Ila Badtke, Vera Laskowski, and Aletha Garbacz.

Survivors of Theresa include children, Noreen (George) Rupchock, Rebecca (Mark) Saberniak, Gary (Helen) Mester, Donald Mester; grandchildren, Christopher, Nicholas, Angela, Michael, Geoffrey, Clare, Samantha, Theresa; great-children; Gauis, Deacon, Oliver and Britt.

In 1944 Theresa entered the Cadet Nursing Program at St. Joseph School of Nursing during WW II and graduated in January 1948. She was very proud to be an Industrial Nurse for the Torrington Corporation, retiring in 1980. Theresa served on a board of nurses who helped create and set up the 1st nursing program for IUSB. She was a parishioner of Christ the King Catholic Church, a member of “TTCM” Travel Trailer club of the Midwest and enjoyed bowling at Chippewa Bowl. Most of all, Theresa loved her family dearly, spending time with her grandchildren who brought her much joy.

Visitation for Theresa will be Tuesday April 11,2017 from 2:00pm to 8:00pm in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd. A Rosary will be prayed at 6:00pm. A Mass of Christian burial will be at Christ The King Wednesday April 12,2017 at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery.
