SOUTH BEND – Phyllis Ruth Hall, 87, of South Bend, Indiana passed away at 8:25 PM Monday, October 14, 2013 at Michiana Health and Rehabilitation Center, Mishawaka, where she has resided since having a stroke.

Phyllis was born on September 11, 1926 in Mishawaka to the late Murray A. and Ruth E. (Gould) Rearick, and has been a lifelong resident of this area. She was a 1944 graduate of John Adams High School.

On September 2, 1950 in South Bend, IN at the River Park United Methodist Church, she was united in marriage to Edwin "Keith" Hall. Keith and Phyllis were married for 45 years, until his passing on October 8, 1995. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Murray A. Rearick, and a grandson, Kevin Hall.

Phyllis is survived by her children, Kimberly L. (William) Drew of Granger, IN and Gregory M. (Teri) Hall of South Bend; six grandchildren, Katie Drew, Kristi Drew, Jonathan Drew, Jennifer (Wesley) Scott, Laura Hall, Brian Hall; three great grandchildren, Tyler, Alexia and Makenzie.

Phyllis worked as an Assistant Event Manager for the University of Notre Dame Joyce Athletic and Convocation Center for 20 years, retiring in 1996. She previously worked at Studebakers, US Van Lines and Bekins Van Lines. Phyllis grew up in the River Park area and attended the River Park United Methodist Church where she was a lifelong member. Phyllis was always very active in the church until her declining health. The church has always been a cornerstone of her life.

Funeral services for Phyllis R. Hall will be 11:30 AM Saturday, October 19, 2013 at Palmer Funeral Home – River Park at 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend, IN 46615 with Rev. Mike Butler, pastor of the River Park UMC, officiating. Graveside services will be held at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola, IN. Friends may gather with the family on Saturday morning from 10:00 AM till the time of the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to River Park United Methodist Church 920 S. 23rd Street, South Bend, IN 46615.
