Peter Boll Rose

Peter B. Rose , 79, of Caroline Street, South Bend, passed away after an extended illness on Saturday, July 23, in the Holy Cross Care Center.

Pete was born June 19, 1926, in Park River, North Dakota, to Ann and Peter J. Rose , D.D.S., both deceased. He was preceded in death by his youngest son, Patrick, who died in October 2001.

Pete moved to South Bend in 1940 and graduated from John Adams High School in 1944, served in the United States Navy (Seabees) and attended Indiana University. Peter graduated from the School of Business in 1950.

He married his loving wife, Trudy (Cerney) in October 1950, who survives. In addition to Trudy, Pete is survived by his son, Michael (Angela Torreson) of Los Angeles, California; and a daughter, Kathleen (Ed Everett) of Edwardsburg, Michigan; four grandchildren, Kyle and Michael Everett of Edwardsburg, and Sean and Caitlin Rose of South Bend; and daughter-in-law, Colleen of South Bend. Pete is also survived by his sister, Maryvonne O'Doherty of Rocky River, Ohio.

Pete spent 37 years of his career at the Bendix Corporation in sales and quality control management in both Aerospace and Brake and Steering divisions. He was a member of the B.P.O.E. Elks Lodge, the former Assemblers Dance Club, the Merri-Time Dance Club and St. Matthew's Cathedral.

Visitation with the family will be Tuesday from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the Forest G. Hay Funeral Home, 435 S. Ironwood Drive, South Bend. A memorial Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. Matthew's Cathedral.
