Phyllis A. Andrews

Phyllis A. Andrews , 71, of Stonehedge Lane, South Bend, Ind., died following an illness at 4:25 p.m. on Friday, August 7, in her residence.

Mrs. Andrews was born on Dec. 14, 1926, in Toledo, Ohio, to Otto E. and Evelyn C. (Milspaugh) Van Houten and lived in South Bend most of her lifetime.

On July 12, 1947, in South Bend as Phyllis A. Van Houten she married Roy D. Andrews , who survives.

She is also survived by one daughter, Julie (Arthur) Scholtes of South Bend; one son, Van M. (Marilynn) Andrews of Irvine, Calif.; three grandchildren, Adam, Ryan, and Matthew Scholtes; and by one sister, Janice Meyers of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.

Her parents and a brother, Neil Van Houten, preceded her in death.

Mrs. Andrews was a sustaining member of The Junior League of South Bend and was very active in the organization.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday in the Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William Street with Rev. Mark Olenowski officiating. Cremation will take place with burial in Southlawn Cemetery at a later date.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home.
