Gordon R. Gould, age 86, of Maryville, passed away Monday, March 18, 2013, at Asbury Place in Maryville.
Visitation will be 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 17, at Maryville First United Methodist Church, Maryville. Miller Funeral Home, Maryville, is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Worrier Project.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 26, at Maryville First United Methodist Church in Maryville. Rev. Larry Carroll and Rev. Brenda Carroll will officiate. Graveside service and interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery, Maryville, Tennessee.
Gordon Reese Gould, was born February 7, 1927, in Lincoln, Nebraska, the son of Phillip Holden and Gladys Mae (Mosher) Gould. He married Elayne Marie Carpenter in Lincoln, Nebraska. She died November 1, 1966. He then married Ursula Schmelzer. She died July 15, 2009. He was a graduate of the University of Nebraska with a degree in Geology. He served in the United States Army Air Core during World War II as a flight engineer on a B-24 Bomber. He was a member of Maryville First United Methodist Church.
He is survived by three sons, David Gould of Maryville, Gordon (Elaine) Gould, of Durant, IA, and Brad (Elfriede) Gould of Germany; one daughter, Conni Gould of Rockford, IL; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Tom Gould of Nebraska; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, both wives, one son, Steven Gould, two brothers, Earl Gould and Bruce Gould and one sister, Dorothy Nichols.
