Thelma Jean Roytek

MISHAWAKA - Thelma Jean "Gus or Gussie" Roytek, 81, passed away on Friday, February 27, 2009 in Healthwin Specialized Care Facility, South Bend. Thelma was born on July 23, 1927 in Leiters Ford, IN to Floyd and Nellie (Hudkins) Guisinger.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Randy Roytek in 1979 and a brother, Phon Earl Guisinger. On May 21, 1949 in South Bend, she married Donald J. "Dr." Roytek. Surviving are her loving husband of almost 60 years, Donald; her children, Carol (Kevin) Nellis of Granger, Nancy (Tom) Klopfenstein of Mishawaka, Donna (Kent) Richter of Tavares, FL and Jim (Leslie) Roytek of Carmel, IN; eight grandchildren, Ryan, Rory and Alexandra Nellis, James and Caitlin Joachim, Alexa, Blake and Case Roytek; two step grandchildren, Ben and Michele Klopfenstein and a sister, Nancy (Don) Baldridge of Osceola.

Thelma was a member of St. Anthony De Padua Church in South Bend. She enjoyed being with her family and friends. She worked for Indiana Bell before starting a family and then worked for Whiteford Kenilworth as an Administrative Assistant in later years.

Family and friends may visit on Sunday March 1 from 4 to 7 p.m. in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, March 2 in St. Anthony De Padua Church with Rev. Derrick Sneyd officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery, South Bend.
