Betty Jane Bidlack

MISHAWAKA - Betty Jane Bidlack, 86, passed away on Sunday, September 14, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend. Betty was born on October 4, 1927, in Hamlet, IN, as the only child to Boyd and Margaret Viola (Harness) Jimerson.

She was preceded in death by her parents. On August 1, 1948, in Mishawaka, she married Gene H. Bidlack. He preceded her in death on October 29, 2002. Surviving are her daughter, Debbie (Ray) Winey of Mishawaka; a son, Kevin (Sue) Bidlack of Rochester Hills, MI; and a granddaughter, Margaret "Maggie" (Steven Stapleton) Winey of Elk Ridge, MD.

Betty was a 1945 Adams High School graduate. She worked in the Payroll department at Studebaker before she retired when her daughter was born. Betty enjoyed walking; she and Gene use to spend their winters in Florida from 1980 to 1994. She was a member of Riley Women's Club. Betty sold AVON on and off whenever they moved to a new area as a way to meet the neighbors. She loved to play cards and shuffle board in Florida.

As per Betty's wishes, there will be no visitation. There will be a private family graveside service. Hahn Funeral Home, Mishawaka, has been entrusted with handling the final arrangements. The family would like to thank Morningside Nursing and Memory Center for their outstanding care and loving kindness to Betty at all times and to her neighbors on Piedmont who looked after her when she was walking and wandering around the neighborhood. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Betty's name to Hospice Foundation Supporting Center for Hospice Care: South Bend-Elkhart-Plymouth, 501 Comfort Place, Mishawaka, IN 46545.
