Anthony Paul Sergio Sr.

SOUTH BEND – Anthony P. Sergio Sr., 62, of 5625 South Raleigh Drive, died at 3:14 a.m. Saturday in his home.

Mr. Sergio owned and operated Sergio Pharmacy on South Bend Avenue for 15 years and on U.S. 31 and Kern Road for 13 years.

He was born Aug. 1, 1928 in Plati, Italy. He lived in South Bend area for most of his life. On July 31, 1954, in South Bend, he married Dolores Muia. She survives with a daughter, Rosanne Sergio Scott of South Bend; four sons, Dr. Paul A. Sergio and Anthony P. Sergio Jr. both of South Bend, Dr. Joseph P. Sergio of Niles, and David Sergio of Lansing; eight grandchildren; four sisters, Cathy Hunneshagen of Lodi, Calif., Mary Muhlherr of Spring, Texas; Josie Muhlherr of Houston; and Anne Kotoske of South Bend; and a brother, Joseph of South Bend. He was an Army veteran.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Jude’s Catholic Church. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in Guisinger Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, where a prayer service will be at 7 p.m. today.
