Visitation for William "Bill" Vernon Snoke, 91, of Tyler will be held on, Friday, January 26, 2018 from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. at Stewart Family Funeral Home. A private burial will be held at Cathedral in the Pines Cemetery in Tyler under the direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home.

Mr. Snoke passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2018 in Tyler. He was born August 28, 1926 in South Bend, Indiana to Robert Dewey Snoke and Laura Ethel Thompson Snoke.

Bill proudly served his country in the United States Navy during WWII, stationed in Hawaii and Miami. He was a gunner's mate and expert marksman. Later, he became a private pilot and a U.S. Coastguard certified charter captain. In civilian life, he owned several businesses, most recently, Snoke Special Products in Jacksonville. He was a Shriner, an avid golfer, and loved to travel.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Claudine; his sons, Brian Snoke and Dan Cook; his sister, Jane and brother, Jim. He is survived by his loving family including his children, Beth Wilson and husband John of Teasleville, Terry Cook and wife Lynn of Florence, AL, David Cook and wife Jan of Cleveland, OK, and Marsha Pavletich and husband Bob Simmons of Dallas; grandchildren, Codi McGill, Michaelanne Fields, Amy Thomas, Audrey Cisco, Jefferson Cook, Clint Dillard, Ben Dillard, Lea Standley, Meredith Herndon and Laura Simmons Hall; five great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Jann McGaughey and numerous nieces and nephews.

If desired, memorials may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children at 2900 N. Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, FL 33607.
