SOUTH BEND - James E. Connolly, 80, passed away in his home in Camp Meeker, CA, on Monday, June 15th.
Jim was born July 8, 1928, in Philadelphia, PA, to E.F. "Jim" and Helen Connolly, who preceded him in death. Also preceding him were his sisters, Francis Jester of Los Angeles, CA, and Patricia Rice of Evansville, IN.
He is survived by his wife, Betty, who he married Dec. 29, 1957, in Garden Grove, CA. Also surviving are daughters, Robyn, Phyllis and Laura; grandsons, Christopher and Triston, all of California; sister, Helen McGuire of South Bend; nephews, Denis (Nancy) Burns of South Bend, Michael (Carol) Jester of Metairie, LA, and Patrick Rice of Evansville, IN; nieces, Kelli and Amy Rice of Evansville, and Jennifer (Scott) Greene of Indianapolis.
Jim graduated from John Adams High School in 1946. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and spent three years in Trieste, Italy, with the Army of Occupation. He moved to California in 1952, graduated from UCLA and received his law degree from Western University, Los Angeles.
At Jim's request, there will be no services. Cremation is being handled by the Adobe Creek Funeral Home, Petaluma, CA.
