SOUTH BEND, IN - Patsy Jean Doyle, 90, residing in South Bend, Indiana passed away Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at her home at Southfield Village, South Bend.

Patsy was born on November 19, 1927 in Lakeville, Indiana to the late Harry F. Day and Esther (Howell) Day and has been a lifelong resident of this area, graduating from John Adams High School, South Bend in 1946. Patsy cherished her role as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother for her family. She was known as a wonderful seamstress, an avid fan of the University of Notre Dame, the Game Show Network, and crossword puzzles. She enjoyed being a part of the Lakeville United Methodist Church family, especially the Quilting Group and Ladies Group.

On September 11, 1948 in South Bend, she was united in marriage to Thomas E. Doyle, Jr. who preceded her in death on April 30, 2005. Thomas and Patsy were blessed with three children, Deborah (Denis) Hurley of Valparaiso, IN, Cynthia (Stephen) Chmiel of Monticello, IL, and Timothy J. (Ruth) Doyle of Plymouth, IN. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren, Alison (Jon) Andrews, Adam Doyle, Andrew (Jill) Doyle, Timothy (Candice Kenney) Hurley, Katherine (Derrick) Durrah, Margaret (Walter) Bielet, Laura Chmiel, and Paula Chmiel; along with eleven great-grandchildren: Camden, Ayden, and Hudson Doyle; Preston, Presley, and Payn Andrews; Macalister and Marshall Doyle; Cora Hurley, Dean Durrah, and Ava Hutchison. Patsy is also survived by her sister, Dixie McMichael of Mishawaka; and her aunt, Evelyn Day. She was preceded in death by her infant daughter.

Funeral Services for Patsy Jean Doyle will be at 11:00 AM Friday, September 28, 2018 at the Lakeville United Methodist Church, 610 N. Michigan Street, Lakeville, IN 46536 with Pastor Brian White officiating. Graveside Services will follow at Porter Rae Cemetery, Potato Creek State Park, North Liberty, IN. Friends may visit with the family this Thursday, September 27, 2018 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Palmer Funeral Home Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan Street, South Bend, IN 46614, and one hour prior to services on Friday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Lakeville United Methodist Church or to the Center for Hospice Care, 501 Comfort Place, Mishawaka, IN 46545.
