Mr. Paul Fredrick Bumann, 79, of Columbus Georgia, passed away Sunday January 17th at St. Francis Hospital. Funeral Services will be held Friday January 22nd 2009 at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery at 2:30. P.M. EST. With Reverend J. Gerard Schreck officiating .The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., at Vance Brooks Funeral Home 40 48 Macon Road Columbus, Ga. 31907.

Paul Fredrick Bumann was born Sunday September 7, 1930 to the late Paul Asmos Bumann and Pauline Bumann, in South Bend Indiana. He attended college at Notre Dame, where he was captain of the golf team. He then enlisted in the U.S. Army and was assistant golf pro at Ft. Benning. Paul later moved to Brunswick Ga. there he took on the position of Head Golf pro for the Brunswick Country Club. He then returned home to Ft. Benning as Head Golf Pro, He was also head pro at Green Island Country Club for 12 years. Later Paul became Golf Director at Callaway Gardens.

He was also a Trick Shot Expert and earned the nick name The Clown Prince of Golf while doing his trick shows. Paul was also a member of the PGA. After a long life of making a career out of his favorite hobby, Paul retired but when given the opportunity he was giving golf lessons and sharing stories about his pastime.

Other than his parents Paul was preceded in death by his sister Kathleen Patterson. Survivors include Pauls former wife, Anne Twilley Bumann, daughter Laura Rudy and husband Scott of Huntsville, AL, son David Bumann and wife Meredith of Pensacola FL.; Grandchildren Paul Jesse Bumann and John David Bumann.

Paul Bumann was loving father, grandfather and a truly talented man who leaves his family with great memories to be shared for years to come Vance-Brooks Funeral Home.
