Robert H. "Bob" Dieter, 79, Greencroft, Goshen, died May 5, at 5:30 p.m. at Greencroft Healthcare, Goshen.
He was born in South Bend Aug. 1, 1930, to Harry and Gertrude Dieter. He graduated in 1948 from John Adams High School, South Bend. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War.
He was married to Mary Blough Oct. 15, 1954.
He worked at Whitehall Laboratories in Elkhart from 1967 to 1991, when he retired as cheif accountant. He was a member of Goshen First United Methodist Church.
Along with his wife, Mary, his survivors include a brother, William (Phyllis) Dieter, Naples, Fla.; a son, Brian (Jennifer) Dieter, and two granddaughters, Abby Dieter and Rachel Dieter, all of Ames, Iowa; and a daughter, Joellyn Key, Appleton, Wis., and her family.
At Bob's request, his body has been donated to the Indiana University School of Medicine. There will be a private cememony for family and friends at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Bob's memory to Goshen First United Methodist Church or the Greencroft Foundation.
