MICHIGAN CITY - Dennis McIntyre, age 87, of Michigan City, IN, passed away on Monday, March 13, 2017, at his home in Michigan City.
Dennis was born July 15, 1929, in Mishawaka, IN, to Donald E. and Frances A. (Brugner) McIntyre, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his wife: Doris Ann (Davis) McIntyre.
Dennis is survived by niece: Virginia Davis, nephew: John (Mary) Davis; great-niece: Sara (Ken) Andersen and great-nephew: John William (Kari) Davis; and cousin: Mary Toll.
Dennis proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the National Rifle Association, he enjoyed shooting at the Michigan City rifle range as well as building antique guns. Dennis was a talented craftsman, who enjoyed building engines and furniture. He played the Banjo and participated in ballroom dancing. Dennis loved his family very much.
Visitation for family and friends will take place on Saturday, March 18, 2017, from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at Geisen-Carlisle Funeral Home, located at 613 Washington St., Michigan City, IN.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2017, 10:30 AM at the Geisen-Carlisle Funeral Home.
Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Michigan City, IN.
Memorial contributions may be made to Queen of all Saints Catholic Church, 1010 Moore Road, Michigan City, IN 46360.
