Condolences

NEW CARLISLE - Beverly R. Schrader, 86, of New Carlisle, Indiana, passed away at 2:14 p.m. Thursday, July 6, 2017, in Brentwood at LaPorte. Beverly was born on September 22, 1930, in South Bend, to Claude Leo and Gladys Marie (O'Connor) Brooks, and had been a lifelong area resident. She had been employed with the University of Notre Dame in the Telecommunications Department for 20 years. Beverly was also a self-employed Master Cosmetologist for over 20 years and worked at “Vivians” on Main Street in South Bend for 5 years. During her retirement, she had worked at Kaniewski Funeral Home and volunteered at the DeBartolo Performing Arts Center at the University of Notre Dame. On August 27, 1949, in South Bend, she married Donald Earl Schrader, who preceded her in death on January 3, 2006. She was also preceded in death by her son, David Earl Schrader; four sisters, Frances Hartz, Marcella “Pat” Martens, Rosemary Brooks and Betty Brooks; three brothers, Thomas Brooks, George Everett Brooks, and Donald Dean Brooks; and her sister-in-law, Lois Schrader, and 2 brothers-in-law, Robert Schrader and Gilbert Martens. Beverly is survived by three daughters, Susan Schrader Brasseur of New Carlisle, Indiana, Catherine (Craig) Lindgren of New Carlisle, Indiana, and Carol Ann (Tom) Warnock of Cadillac, Michigan; eleven grandchildren, Michelle (Brian) Goebel, Douglas Brasseur (Molly), BethAnne (Dale) Howard, Katie Brasseur, Crystal Snyder, Jacob Lindgren (Kayla Richie), Anne Marie Catherine Lindgren, Beverly Warnock, Drake Warnock (Amanda MacKenzie), Deanna (Matthew) Humphrey, and Christopher (Katie) Warnock); seventeen great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren. Services will take place on Monday, July 24, 2017, at 11:00 AM EST at the New Carlisle United Methodist Church, 300 E Compton Street, New Carlisle, Indiana. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services. Burial will follow at New Carlisle Cemetery. After the burial, a luncheon will be held at the New Carlisle United Methodist Church in which family, friends and the community are invited. Beverly was a 1949 graduate of Adams High School, where she was one of several soloists. She was a beautiful singer and sang for weddings. She was a member of the St. James Episcopal Church Choir and sang with the Sweet Adelines. She was a member of the New Carlisle United Methodist Church, New Carlisle Lions Club, Daughters of the Revolution, and a 50-year member of the Eastern Star. She was a former member of the Zion United Church of Christ in South Bend.
