CRAWLEY, Victor C. "Vic", Baptized into the Hope of Christ's Resurrection, Monday, January 10, 2005 at his home. Beloved husband of Margaret Crawley (nee Kingston) for 47 years. Dear father of Nancy (George) Peterson, Vicki Kuehnel (Bud Cook), Patti (Karl) Karleskint, David (Jennifer) Crawley, Patrick (Lisa) Crawley & Margaret Anne (Mark) Owens, dear grandfather of Kara, Michael, Thomas, Richard, Robert, Kaitlyn, Emily, Allison, Lauren, Jack, Anna & Conner, dear brother-in-law of Liz (Dick) Horvath. Our dear uncle, cousin & friend.

Vic was born in South Bend, Indiana on Feb. 20, 1931. His early years were spent in Indiana. Vic attended Indiana University and went to work for Indiana Bell in February 1951. He later attended St. Louis University. Vic served as Vice President and also as President of Communication Workers of America Local 5707. In July of 1971, he was selected as Assistant to the Vice President in District 5, in Chicago. In August of 1972, Vic returned to District 6 as Administrative Assistant to Vice President. From that position, he was appointed Assistant to the Vice President on July 1, 1986. Vic was elected a member of the United Way Executive Board of Greater St. Louis and has served on numerous committees such as YMCA Inner City Program. In 1986, Vic was elected Vice President of the State AFL-CIO. Vic was elected Vice President of CWA District 6 in April 1992 where he headed the MO, KS, OK, TX & AR regions. Vic retired May 18, 1996. Vic's retirement was devoted to spending special time with his family, visiting friends around the country and living five months of the year on Lake Superior.

Funeral from the SCHRADER Funeral Home, 14960 Manchester Road at Holloway, Ballwin, Friday, Jan. 14, 9:30am to St. Joseph Catholic Church, Manchester for 10:00am mass. Interment Lake View Cemetery, Calumet, Michigan, May 2005. If desired, contributions may be made to Communication Workers of American/Joseph Bierne Foundation, 501 3rd St. N.W., Washington, DC 20001-2797, Red Cross or a charity of choice. Visitation Thursday 3-8pm.
