Alyce Madeline Block

NILES - Alyce Block, 81, of Niles, passed away on Thursday, June 6, 2013 at her residence with her family by her side.

Alyce Block was born on December 18, 1931 in South Bend to the late Jack and Francis (Quick) Ley.

Alyce married Richard Block at a ceremony in South Bend.

She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, daughter Ann Marie Westphall and sister Lois Asmus.

Alyce is survived by her son, John (Audrey) Block of Niles; one grandchild, Steve (Michelle) Hubbard; three great-grandchildren, Cory Katterheinrich, Michael Katterheinrich, and Nathan Katterheinrich; and a brother, James (Erma) Berridge of Mishawaka.

Alyce enjoyed boating, fishing and playing cards. She was a caregiver for many years and enjoyed taking care of the residents. Most of all she loved spending time with her friends and family.

Services to honor Alyce's life will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at 11:00 am with a time of visitation one hour prior at Brown Funeral Home. Pastor Greg Rensberry will be officiating the services.
