MISHAWAKA William H. Carter, 63, of Kensington Place, died at 7:30 p.m. June 11 of natural causes while on a hunting trip at Kitchener Lake, British Columbia. Mr. Carter retired from the former Torrington Co. as an engineer. He was born Nov. 1, 1927, in Rockwood, Tenn., and lived in South Bend most of his life, coming from Tennessee.

On June 17, 1966, in South Bend, he married Agnes Hogson. She survives with daughter, Denise McGuire of Salisbury, Ind.; four stepdaughters, Betty Smith and Joyce Bethke, both of Mishawaka, and Rochelle Davenport and Barbara Joo, both of South Bend; a son, Dan of Phoenix, Ariz.; two stepsons, William Cabanaw of Three Rivers and Edward Cabanaw of Osceola; 13 grand- children; and a great -grandchild.

He was a graduate of Georgia Institute of Technology, treasurer of John Adams Alumni Association, member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 360 and a veteran of the Korean War.

Private services were held today. Entombment will be in Riverview Mausoleum, South Bend. There will be no visitation. Welsheimer Funeral Home, South Bend, is in charge of arrangements
