MISHAWAKA - Ernestine Agnes Harlacher, 87, residing in Mishawaka, passed away at 3:15 pm Tuesday, August 23, 2016 in Sunset House, Mishawaka. She was born April 30, 1929 in Oak Park, IL to the late Ernest and Agnes (Larson) Christy.
On May 20, 1950 in South Bend, IN, Ernestine married Henry James Harlacher, who preceded her in death on April 4, 2010. In her younger years, she worked as a clerk at Kroger Grocery Store for nine years. Then, in 1984, she began working as a secretary for Valley Sharpening.
Ernestine is survived by two sons, Ken (Margaret) Harlacher of Osceola, IN and Michael (Kelly) Harlacher of Granger, IN; two daughters, Cynthia (Jeff) Wordinger of Bristol, IN and Donna (Brian) Perkins of Fayetteville, NC; twelve grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters, Jeanette Keim of Arkansas and Carol Broekers of Goshen, IN; and brother, George Christy of Hilton Head, SC. She was preceded in death by her other brother, Herb Christy.
Graveside services for Ernestine Harlacher, and military graveside services for Henry Harlacher, will take place at 2:30 pm Thursday, September 1, 2016 at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, 10776 McKinley Hwy, Osceola. A memorial service for Ernestine will be also be held at 5:00 pm Thursday, September 1st at Albright United Methodist Church, 504 W. Mishawaka Avenue, Mishawaka. Palmer Funeral Home - Hickey Chapel and Southlawn Cremation Services are assisting the family with arrangements.
