Roland E. Fye, 78, of Summer Berry Lane, formerly of Garden Lane, South Bend, passed away on Wednesday, August 23, 2006, in his home.
He was born on June 14, 1928, in South Bend, to the late Clarence E. and Sophie (Wiatrolik) Fye. On August 1, 1952, in South Bend, he married the former Patricia L. Davenport. He retired in 1988 after 37 years of service from NIPSCO where he had worked as a serviceman.
Roland loved his family very much and will be forever missed by them and his friends.
Roland is survived by his loving family: his wife, Patricia; two daughters, Deborah J. (Rick) Watts of South Bend and Leigh Ann (Andrew) Sniadecki of South Bend; his son, Kevin E. Fye of South Bend; and special son, Dennis Singleton of South Bend; five grandchildren, Christian M. (Michelle) Maslowski of Indianapolis, IN, Mark A. (Laura) Sniadecki of South Bend, Brian E. Maslowski of Indianapolis, IN, Daniel W. (Lindsay) Maslowski of South Bend and David A. Sniadecki of South Bend; one great-grandson, Camden Maslowski; a sister, Phyllis J. Freese of South Bend; and by his brother, Clarence R. (Kaye) Fye of Mishawaka.
There will be no visitation; a private family service to celebrate his life will be held at his home. Welsheimer Family Funeral Home, 521 N. William Street, South Bend, is assisting the family with arrangements.
