SOUTH BEND - John A. Markward, 69, passed away on Saturday, May 23, late of Beecher, Ill., formerly of Dolton, Ill., and South Bend, Ind.
Beloved husband and best friend for 48 years of Wilmadean ''Deanie'' (Morlan) Markward; loving father of Jerry W. (fiance, Deborah A. Overhage) Markward, and the late Janet A. (Clifford) Cary; proud grandpa of Daniel R. and Timothy J. Cary, Diana L., John R. and Andrew M. Markward; cherished great-grandpa of Baylei A. Markins; dearest son of Matilda C. Markward; fond brother of Ralph (Marie), Paul (Lorraine) and Harold (Pat) Markward; precious son-in-law of M. Agnes Morlan; and kind uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. today. Services will be at 8:45 a.m. on Wednesday, May 27, at the Thornridge Funeral Home (Janusz Family Funeral Service), 15801 S. Cottage Grove, four blocks north of 162nd Street (Route 6), Dolton/South Holland to St. Jude The Apostle Church, South Holland, Ill. Mass will be at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
Interment will be at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 27, in South Bend Highland Cemetery, 2257 Portage Avenue.
