Edmund C. White

SOUTH BEND Edmund C. White, 67, of Vernerlee Lane, died at 12:42 p.m. Sunday at Memorial Hospital of an apparent heart attack. Mr. White was employed by Memorial Hospital as a security guard and retired in 1987 from Gilberts Men's Store after more than 20 years of service. He was born Jan. 20, 1928, in South Bend and was a lifelong area resident.

On Aug. 5, 1950, in Lakeville, he married Beverly A. O'Meara. She survives with two daughters, Kimberly A. Pantaleo of Franklin, Tenn., Lisa M. Larkin of South Bend; a son, Michael J. of Mount Angel, Wash.; two grandsons; and two sisters, Lucille W. Regan and Joan Ritter, both of South Bend.

He was a member of St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church, was a former coach, a founder and past president of East Side Little League, and former coach for St. Anthony league and Michiana Soccer Association.

Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at McGann Funeral Home, 2313 E. Edison Road.
