Coach Mondo paid me a very high compliment at the end of the football season my senior year. We were about all packed up and ready to leave the locker room after the last game and he said, "Jay, we want our sons to grow up to be just like you." (Speaking mostly to the other coaches, as most of the players had already left.) That has continued to inspire me as I have conducted my life, as a football team captain, as a physician, as a church leader, aa a husband, as a father and grandfather. It's a simple thing, but words of encouragement can make such a difference in a person's life. Thanks Coach.
