SOUTH BEND - Mr. Terry Rowell, 55, a resident of South Bend Avenue, South Bend, Indiana, entered into eternal rest at 2:35 am. Friday, December 4, 2009, at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center following an illness. On November 6, 1954, in South Bend, he was born to the union of Alexander and Sarah (Ellis) Rowell.

As a lifelong area resident, Terry attended the South Bend Community schools, graduating in 1974 from John Adams High School where he played trombone in the school band. He was honorably discharged from the United States Navy. Terry was previously employed by the University of Notre Dame but was currently disabled. After graduating from John Adams High School, Terry joined the United States Navy where he served for a short period, and he also loved playing his trombone. He enjoyed listening to music, dancing and reading. Most of all he loved being around family and friends.

Among family members who will cherish his memory are four brothers, Spencer (Millie) Rowell of Sacramento, California, Chester Rowell of Mishawaka, Indiana, and Alexander Rowell II and Darrell RoweII, both of South Bend; along with other relatives and friends.He was preceded in death by his parents, and by a nephew, Courtney Rowell.

Funeral services for Mr. Rowell will be held at noon on Friday, December 12, in Atford's Mortuary where arrangements have been entrusted. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Messages of condolence may be e-mailed to alfordsmortuary@comcast.net, c/o the RoweIl family.

Terry Rowell – South Bend, Indiana, Terry passed away December 4, 2009 after an illness.  In high school Terry played the trombone and continued playing throughout his life.  After high school, Terry joined the U.S. Navy and then worked for the University of Notre Dame.  Besides playing his trombone, Terry loved listening to music, dancing and reading.  Terry is survived by his four brothers.
