Phillip L.“Phil” Simcox, 77, of Syracuse, IN passed away at 5:10 p.m. on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at I.U. Goshen Hospital in Goshen, IN.  He was born on July 9, 1938 in South Bend, IN to Robert H. & Margie (Vannett) Simcox.

He attended Adams High School in South Bend, IN and moved to Kosciusko County in the 1960’s from South Bend. On January 1, 1981 in Oswego, IN he married Linda Sue (Byrd) Mattox who survives. He retired from Zimmer Corporation in Warsaw, IN after 25 years.

He was survived by:

Wife – Linda Simcox of Syracuse

Son – Robert Simcox of Fort Wayne

Step Daughter – Barbara Ann (Bruce) Daughterty of Syracuse

Step Son – David Mattox of Philippines

4 Grand & 2 Gt. Grandchildren

2 Sisters – Diane Kay Nail of Milford & Linda Gillespie of Larwill

He was preceded in death by his parents.

No public services are planned. Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County 4356 N. SR 15, Warsaw, IN. Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN is in charge of arrangements. 

Memorial bequest may be given to Animal Welfare League of Kosciusko County, 3489 E. 100S, Pierceton, IN 46562.
