MISHAWAKA - Donna Lee Bauer, 69, passed away on Wednesday, January 6th, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend.
Donna was born on March 10, 1940, in Mishawaka, to Harold and Lola (Zeiger) Metz. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, George Metz.
Surviving are her children, Kenna (Robert) Williamson of Mishawaka, Jodi (Matthew) Dickey of Carmel, IN, and Paula Lewark of Mishawaka; two grandchildren, Abigail Williamson and Melissa Lewark; a sister, Shirley Bauer of Cassopolis, MI; and two brothers, Kenneth (Beverly) Metz and Gerry Metz, both of South Bend.
Donna was the program director for Meals on Wheels for the last 30 years. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Granger. Donna was a loving, caring person; she brought joy to everyone she met. Donna will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
The family would like to express our thanks and gratitude to Dr. David Taber, MD, and Sharon Klingerman, NP, the staff of Michiana Hematology Oncology, the staff of Memorial Hospital 10 South, and a special thanks to Dr. Scott Wheet, MD. Also, our deepest thanks for the care and support that was given to our mother by her "family" at Meals on Wheels: We love you guys! She could not have done it without you.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 11th, from 3 to 7 p.m. in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 12th, at 11:00 a.m. in Peace Lutheran Church, with Rev. Steven Mischke officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Meals on Wheels 121 W. Garst, South Bend, IN 46601; or to Peace Lutheran Church, 16791 Cleveland Road, Granger, IN 46530.
