SOUTH BEND - Jerome Michael Rist "Jerry," 47, of South Bend, IN, passed away on Saturday, October 8th. Jerry was born on October 22, 1963, to the union of Robert James Rist and Shirley Ann (Schneider) Rist. Jerry is survived by two children, Robert J. Michael (Robbie) and Jennifer Marie Rist. Jerry also leaves behind his mother, Shirley Ann Rist of South Bend; sister, Ronda Jo of North Liberty; along with brothers, James Robert and John Joseph Rist, also of South Bend. He will be dearly missed by his niece, Glory Wendt, nephews, Dalton Wendt and Casey Rist, Cory (Liz) Rist and Chad Rist. Jerry will also be remembered by his uncles, Elwood (Pat) Schnieder and Ronald (Mary) Schnieder and their families, along with his great-aunts, Rosemary Ruteman and Idea Mae Krupp. Jerry was preceded in death by his father, Robert James Rist; maternal grandparents, Divona and Elwood Schnieder; and paternal grandparents, Willis and Maydean (Parker) Rist. God. Grant me the Serenity To accept the things I cannot change, Courage to change the things I can, And Wisdom to know the difference. Jerry will always be remembered for his great love of music; if there was a concert, he was there. He was also an avid Indianapolis Colts and Notre Dame fan. A private service will be held for Jerry by immediate family. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. The HANLEY & Sons "Southwest Chapel" Funeral Home handled arrangements and extends its deepest sympathy and heartfelt prayers to the Rist family.
