William C Horvath

William C. Horvath, 70 years old, passed away at 1:48 a.m. on Saturday, November 21, 2020 at the home of his daughter surrounded by his loving family.  Bill was born on March 5, 1950 in South Bend to the late Carl and Louise (Ullery) Horvath.  He has remained a lifelong resident.

Bill is survived by his three children, Ashley Horvath, Brandon Horvath, and Heather (fiancé, Coy Brown) Horvath, all of South Bend; two loved grandchildren, Blake and Braylynn Moore; and his identical twin brother, Rick (Karen) Horvath of South Bend.  He is also survived by the mother of his children, Dawn Jones of Walkerton.

Bill formerly worked for the City of South Bend within the Street Department.  He retired from the Juvenile Justice Center after 10 years of employment. Bill was a 1969 graduate of John Adams High School.  He could bring lightness into a room with his laughter and was a joy to be around.  Bill was and always has been the most loving, giving, and accepting man of any and all people.  He loved spending time with his three children and sharing a good meal.  His children were his life.  He was a Christian man who watched his Christian television shows daily and would preach his favorite Bible verses to anyone who would listen.

Bill loved to sing and was gifted with his talents.  He loved listening to Elvis, Frank Sinatra, and the Beach Boys.  Singing and entertaining at the Eagles Lodge was a hobby for him.  He loved holidays, such as Thanksgiving and Christmas when he could be surrounded by his family and have a meal together.  He always wanted to make sure everyone was fed.

A short prayer service will be held at the mausoleum chapel of St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park in Granger at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 27, 2020.  Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Friday at the Palmer Funeral Home, Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S.
