James Cooper Fenimore

Oct. 4, 1940 – Nov. 29, 1979

Cpl. James Cooper Fenimore, 39, of 54707 27th St., died at 9:30 a.m. Thursday in St Joseph Hospital, Mishawaka, after an apparent heart attack. He was a St. Joseph County policeman. He was born on Oct. 4, 1940 in South Bend, and had lived here all his life.

On Oct. 3, 1959, in South Bend, he married Susan Joan Dellinger, who survives. Also surviving are his mother, Mrs. Florence Fenimore of South Bend; a daughter, Brenda K. at home, two sisters Mrs. Patricia Cressy of Chicago and Mrs. Grace Nyerges of Granger, and a brother, William B. Jr. of South Bend.

Services will be at 11 a.m Monday in Little Flower Catholic Church, Rev. William Neidhart, C.S.C. pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the McGann Funeral Home.

He was a member of Lodge 155, Fraternal Order of Police, the Maennerchor Club, the Friday Night Mixed Doubles Bowling League and the Thursday Night Bowling League.
