James E. Roop

Feb. 11, 1915 - Jul. 5, 2008

SOUTH BEND - James E. Roop, 93, went home to be with Jesus the morning of July 5. He was a resident of South Bend, most of his life and moved to Omaha, NE, two years ago to live near daughter and family. 

James taught school for the South Bend Schools for 42 years. Survivors include his wife, Ruth Wieand; also William (Gayle) Roop, Kenneth (Judy) Roop, Kathleen (Fred) Scott; 10 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be given to Church of the Brethren in Elgin, IL or Bethany Theological Seminary in Richmond, IN.
