Doreatha Marie Harden (Brown)

Doreatha Marie Harden-Brown, a loving mother, sister, and friend; was born April 6, 1960 to the union of Henry and Frances (Bell) Harden. Doreatha was a lifelong resident of South Bend and graduated from John Adams High School in 1978. Doreatha attended church at New Birth Christian Ministries. She was an avid bowler in her younger days, loved going to the green fields every year, cooking, and loved Notre Dame football. Doreatha was always known to have any item you needed in her purse and was affectionately known as “Sister CVS”.

Doreatha leaves to cherish her memory a host of family and friends including her mother, Frances Harden; her partner in crime, Ward Dukes Jr.; her two children: LaShanda Bates and DayShawn Brown, her three grandchildren Zontrae (Angelica) Markham, Zion Bates, and Zaviaon Harris; her great-granddaughter, Sarai Markham; her sisters: Deborah (Joe) Mobley, Tracey Bass, Crystal Wilson; her brothers: Dewain “Michael” (Regina) Wright and Joseph Harden; along with her sister in law Julie Harden.

She also leaves to cherish her many nieces and nephews Derrick (Demicka) Perry, Larry “L.A'' Perry, Tewanna Perry, Curtis (Dawnsha) Perry, Lena Harden, Henry Anthony Harden Jr., Steven Harden, Kenneth Harden, Tyrone Wright, Tamyra Wright, Keeshia Spann, Kevin (Azailyah) Williams, Dareen Diggins, Jasmine (Abdul) Lewis, D’Anndra Lewis, and Cameron Wilson; a host of great nieces and nephews and special friends including Shirley Diggins, Sharon “Niecy” Talbert, Rosie Carter, Lynn Perry, and Tanisha Duncan. She will be greatly missed by all.

Doreatha is preceded in death by her father Henry Harden, brother, Henry A. Harden Sr.; special uncle and aunt Frank “Lester” and Alice Bass; godmother, Mae McBride; special mother Daisy Powell.
