Heidi Ann Knight, 47 years old, unexpectedly passed away on Sunday evening, June 12, 2022 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka. Heidi was born on September 22, 1974 in South Bend and has remained a lifelong resident. On October 16, 2004 in South Bend, Heidi and Robert E. Knight were united in marriage.

Along with Rob, her loving husband of 17 years, Heidi is survived by her step-son, Chris (Sara) Knight of Indianapolis; grandson, Royce; parents, Brian and Carol (Hertel) Hedman of Granger; sisters, Heather (fiancé, Mike Sherman) Hedman of South Bend and Holly (Jeff) Ballard of Granger and her brother, Dr. Hugh (Lorie) Hedman of Granger. Heidi is also survived by her nieces and nephew, Emmarie Ballard, Teag Ballard, HannahHedman, HallieHedman andHarperHedman; and her two English Cream Golden Retrievers, Woody and Lola.

Heidi was a graduate of John Adams High School, South Bend and also a graduate of Indiana University, Bloomington. She was a best friend to many. Fiercely loyal and generous to all who were lucky enough to know her. She invested her time in you; and you were better for it. Heidi loved to laugh and to make every day an adventure. She was able to pack in more life in her 47 years than most people do in many lifetimes. Her illuminating presence will leave a gaping hole in all of our lives.

Heidi had a flair for decorating. Her style was brilliantly eclectic reflecting her radiance, giving everything she did a“Midas touch.” Her home was her masterpiece and is truly a sight to behold. Heidi was full of life, radiant and dynamic. She had a great love for her family and was loved in return.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 17, 2022 at the Palmer Funeral Home-Welsheimer North Chapel, 17033 Cleveland Road, South Bend. Graveside services and burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery, South Bend. Friends may visit with the family from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 16th at the funeral home. Friends may also visit with the family one hour prior to the services on Friday.
