Kimberly Darnell Johnson

Kimberly Darnell Johnson, 32, of 917 South Esther Street, South Bend, Ind., expired at 6:30 a.m. on Monday, March 24, at 128 LaPorte Avenue.

She was born Sept. 24, 1964, in South Bend, to Monella and Leonard Thomas Shaw, and lived here all her life.

On April 24, 1992, in South Bend, she married Cornel J. Johnson, who survives. She is also survived by her parents, Monella and Leonard Thomas Shaw of South Bend; a daughter, LaKeya Renee Johnson; two stepdaughters, Tamara and Tamala Johnson, at home; two sons, Darnell J. Johnson and Lars LaShawn Shaw; two stepsons, Christopher and Cornel Johnson, at home; three brothers, Leonard LaMar Shaw and Terrance Lee Shaw, both of South Bend, and Marvin Lee Shaw of Stone Mountain, Ga.; her maternal grandfather, Harry Bates of Decatur, Ill.; a mother-in-law, Mrs. Walley Buchanan, and father-in-law, Robert E. John, both of South Bend; by aunts and uncles, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Kimberly worked in the healthcare field as a nurse's aide for several years. She was a 1982 graduate of John Adams High School, and was a member of Lake Chapel Primitive Baptist Church where she professed her faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.

Services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday in Lake Chapel Primitive Baptist Church, with Elder Carey Payton, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday in Clark Funeral Chapel.

Clark Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
