Waneta “Edie” (Wamsley) Verhamme
Waneta “Edie” Verhamme, 93, of Mishawaka passed away on Wednesday, September 7, 2022. Edie was born in South Bend, IN on September 20, 1928, to the late Grayston and Lucille (Brown) Wamsley. On September 7, 1951, she married John Verhamme who preceded her in death on October 28, 2011. She was also preceded in death by her son, Thomas Verhamme; her sisters, Joyce Wamsley and Verona Mielke; brother, Herschel Wamsley; and son-in-law, Vernon Hubbard. She is survived by her children, Philip (Kathy) Verhamme, William Verhamme, Edward (Judy) Verhamme, and Linda Hubbard; grandchildren, Nathan Hubbard, Brittany, Morgan, Andrew, Matthew, John, Brendan, and Christian Verhamme; and 4 great-grandchildren.
Edie was a 1948 Adams High School graduate. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed doing puzzles and watching Wheel of Fortune.
Visitation will be 10 am-12 pm, Tuesday, September 13, 2022, at Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. Funeral Service will immediately follow at 12 pm in funeral home with Father Chris Lapp officiating. Edie will be laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery in Mishawaka.
