MISHAWAKA - Michael A. Bailey, residing in Mishawaka, IN, passed away at 2:28 p.m. Wednesday, February 14, 2007, in the Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka, at the age of 44. He was born September 17, 1962, in South Bend, the son of Kenneth S. and JoAnn (Sharpe) Bailey, and had been a lifelong resident of South Bend-Mishawaka. He graduated from John Adams High School, and joined the United States Army, serving his country proudly in Granada. He was honorably discharged on January 16, 1991. On June 11, 2005, in Mishawaka, he married Karen D. Nordstrom, who survives. He is also survived by his father, Kenneth S. Bailey of Turrell, AR, his brother, Kenneth D. Bailey of Mishawaka, and numerous stepchildren. Michael was an avid fan of Notre Dame football, the Chicago Bears and NASCAR. Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 17, 2007, in the Palmer Funeral Home-River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend. Rev. Kenneth Mendenhall, pastor of United Pentecostal Church, will officiate. Graveside services and military rites will follow at Southlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. today in the Palmer Funeral Home-River Park. Contributions in memory of Mr. Bailey may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
