Alan W Bullock - Class Of 1945 VIEW PROFILE

  

Alan Walter Bullock, 90, Kokomo, passed peacefully at Waterford Place on Nov. 11, 2017 at 3:25 a.m.

He was born on Sept. 8, 1927, to William Andrew and Lillian May Bullock (Schitzler) in Brooklyn, New York.

Alan married the love of his life Gladys (Wollwerth) Bullock on May 30, 1953, in Jamaica, New York.

Alan is survived by his wife, Gladys; children, Warren E. (Karen) Bullock, Carolyn M. (James) Hubenthal, Beth A. (Wallace) Fields, and Timothy A. (Cynthia) Bullock; grandchildren, Sharon (Jeremy) Bullock Klein, Melissa Bullock, Susan Hubenthal, Michael (Lachelle) Hubenthal, Mark Hubenthal, Elizabeth Hubenthal, Ryan (Julia) Fields, Rachelle Fields, Josalyn Bullock, Kayla Bullock, Lindsay Bullock, and Andrew Bullock; and great-grandchildren, Warren and Elizabeth Klein, and Abigail, Elise, Kristin and Timothy Hubenthal.

Alan was a 1945 graduate of John Adams High School and went on to study at Brooklyn Polytech. He began his electrical career with Western Electric before serving honorably with the United States Navy during WWII from 1945 to 1946. After his service was complete, he returned to Western Electric before moving on to Consolidated Edison until his retirement 42 years later. Alan enjoyed fishing, photography, and classical music. He loved the challenge of fixing just about any thing. While living in New York, he was a member of West Hills Baptist Church, Huntington, New York. There he held the position of trustee, deacon, Christian school board member, and enjoyed singing in the choir.

After moving to Kokomo, he became a member of Bible Baptist Church and was active with the Primetimers.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Wilbur L. Bullock, PhD.

Visitation will be held Friday, Nov. 17, 2017, from 4 to 7 p.m. and 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 18, with services starting at 11 a.m., all at Ellers Mortuary and Cremation Center, Webster Street Chapel, with Pastor Keith Treadway officiating. Interment will be at Melville Cemetery in Huntington Station, New York, on Nov. 27 at 11 a.m. with Military Honors.
