MARY JANE (MULL) STOKES

GRANGER - Mary Jane Stokes, 80, of Granger, passed away Wednesday, November 16th, in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center. She was born July 30, 1931, in South Bend, to the late Harry and Elizabeth (Beistle) Mull. Also preceding her in death were her grandson, Adam Charles Stokes, and siblings, Susan and Lee Mull. On January 16, 1949, she married Charles "Bud" Stokes, who died June 9, 2000. She is survived by a daughter, Lucinda Marie Lojka and Jerry of Oklahoma City; and sons, David Eugene Stokes and Sally of South Bend, and Ronald Lee Stokes (Patty) of Niles, MI; three grandchildren, Tara Marie Lojka, Colby Ryan Lojka, Devlon Stokes; a great-grandchild, Madison Jane Stokes; and a very special friend, Bob Inglett of Cassopolis, MI.

Mary Jane graduated from John Adams High School and she worked as a sales associate with Sears and Roebuck in South Bend for 21 years before retirement.

Mary Jane was very active after her retirement and worked for the Republican Party locally; she was an avid reader and enjoyed reading Civil War history. She was a volunteer in the gift shop in the St. Joseph Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 21, in the Welsheimer Family Funeral Home North, 17033 Cleveland Road. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park. Friends may visit with the family today from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Joseph County Humane Society, 2506 Grape Road, Mishawaka, IN 46545.
