JEANETTE (STEWART) WALKER

SOUTH BEND - Jeanette L. "Sue" Walker, 46, of South Bend, IN, passed away at 9:37 a.m. Thursday, June 17, 2010, in Hospice House. She was born on August 5, 1963, in South Bend, IN, to Kirkland and Bernice (Smith) Stewart.

On April 4, 1985, in South Bend, IN, she married Joseph B. Walker, who survives. Mrs. Walker is also survived by daughter, Jabrina Walker of South Bend, IN; two sons, JaShawn (Duchess) Walker of South Bend, IN, and Joseph (Sheena) Walker Jr. of Dallas, TX; stepdaughter, Selena Walker of South Bend, IN; 11 grandchildren; father, Kirkland Stewart of Dallas, TX; and sister, Paula Stewart Hines of Dallas, TX.

Her mother and brother, Kirkland Stewart Jr., preceded her in death. Mrs. Walker was a lifelong area resident.

She graduated from John Adams High School, class of 1982. Mrs. Walker worked for the South Bend Community School Corporation. She was a member of the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church and the Greater New Harvest Church.

Funeral services will be held at noon Friday, June 25, 2010, in Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, 1862 N. Olive St., South Bend. Rev. Ronald Staggers will officiate. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery, South Bend. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. - noon Friday in church.
