Barry Searls Grady

Barry Searls Grady, 84, passed away at 3:11pm on Monday, April 17, 2023, in his home.

Barry was born on May 1, 1938, in South Bend, to the late Governor and Lula (Smith) Grady, Sr. Barry was also preceded by brother Burdette Grady, and sisters, Effie Wilson, Norma Weaver, Catherine Greene, and Annie Ruth Nichols.

On November 25, 1967, Barry married Mable (Malone). They have been married 55 years. She survives along with daughters, Joyce (Anthony) Grady of South Bend, and Tara (Andre) Grady-Walker of Indianapolis; son, Marc (Jaimee) Grady of South Bend; granddaughters, Tiffany Thomas of South Bend and Christina Grady of South Bend; great-grandson, Jayne Griffin of South Bend; sister, Doris Grady of Ocala, Florida; and brothers, Governor (Geraldine) Grady, Jr. of Overland Park, Kansas and Spencer (Lillie) Grady, Sr. of South Bend; along with many other relatives and friends who have fond memories to last a lifetime.

Barry graduated from John Adams High School where he played football for all 4 years. He worked at RACO for 38 years before retiring. Barry joined and was baptized in Greater St. John MB Church in 1996.

Funeral Service will be 10am Saturday, April 29, 2023, in St. John’s Greater MB Church where family and friends may begin to gather at 9am. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery.
