Pamela K Howard (Walls) - Class Of 1977 VIEW PROFILE

 

Ms. Pamela Kay Walls-Smith, affectionately known as Pam, entered into eternity on Saturday, June 10, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. She was 64 years old.

Pam was born in South Bend, Indiana on March 15, 1959, to the late Joseph and the late Mae Francis Howard. She was educated in the South Bend Community School Corporation and graduated from John Adams High School in 1977.  At the age of 53 Pam attended Ivy Tech Community College and earned her degree in Culinary Arts as well as a certificate in Hospitality and Restaurant Management.

Pam’s love for Christ was early on and she was a member of Greater St. John Missionary Baptist Church.  She dearly loved her pastor and watched faithfully every Sunday on YouTube.  After watching the service she would call her niece, Felicia on the phone and recite Pastor McGhee’s sermons verbatim.

On March 29, 2010 Pamela was united in marriage to Burnell Smith. During her lifetime Pam held various jobs; she was employed by several area nursing facilities, Caterpillar Industries, The Juvenile Corrections Facility, and the South Bend Community School Corporation – Transportation Department.

Pam was full of energy and loved to have fun. She was always the life of the party.  She loved being with her family, traveling with her sister and nieces, going to the community garden, grocery shopping and most importantly cooking. 

Pamela leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 13 years, Burnell Smith;  her only sister, Francine Walls-Forrest; three brothers, Tommie (Pamela) Walls of Belleville, Michigan, Marvin Walls and Kavin Howard both of South Bend; 12 nieces and nephews, Felicia, Fhonda, and Fayonna Forrest all of South Bend;  Tommie “Justin” and Chaz Walls also of Belleville;  Yolanda Walls of Glenwood, Illinois; Marcel (Miranda) Walls, Sandra and Deangelo Jones all of Cincinnati, Ohio; Makeda Howard of South Bend; Kavin Howard Jr., and Tytyanna Redding both of Winston Salem, North Carolina; one bonus nephew, Everett Fisher of South Bend; three bonus nieces, Joy Forrest of Bloomington, Indiana, Dylisha McDonald and Cassidy Reid both of South Bend;  16 great nieces and nephews, Ja'leigha and Jailey Wills more like grandchildren; special cousins, Kevin A. Hall and Hiawatha Saddlewhite both of South Bend; Remell Nichols and Adrenus (Willie) Harris both of Illinois; special friends, Pamela Hampton, Julliann Morrell, Carol Lynn Fulce, Candy Martin, and Darryl Osborne; her bonus mom, Catherine Williams; an aunt Tinnie Hall of Denver, Colorado; her mother in-law, Alice Malone and brother in-law, Anthony (Debra) Smith.
