Fred A. Schwanz

Fred A. Schwanz, 74, of 1355 Randolph, died at 7:35 a.m. Sunday, Jul 2, 1978, in Memorial Hospital after an illness of four months. He was retired from the South Bend Community School Corp. He taught for many years at John Adams High School.

Born July 17, 1903, in Arcola, Ill., he lived most his life in the South Bend area. On Feb. 4, 1933, he married Kathryn Pedersen, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Suzanne Jenkins of St. Paul, Minn., and Mrs. Marilyn Engo of Centerport, N.Y. and three grandchildren.

He was a member of the Indiana Retired Teachers Association.

Memorial services will be held at a later date. Cremation took place in Riverview Crematory. Memorial donations may be made to the St. Joseph County Cancer Society.
