Frances (Locopo) Tucker
April 9, 1931 - Nov. 10, 2005
Frances L. Tucker, 74, residing Currant Road, Mishawaka, passed away at 1:35 a.m. Thursday, November 10, 2005, in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, South Bend.
She was born April 9, 1931, daughter of Dominic and Marie (Warner) Lacopo, and had remained a lifelong resident of St. Joseph County. She was a graduate of John Adams High School. Mrs. Tucker retired in 1982 as office manager of St. Joseph County Humane Society following 15 years of service.
On October 17, 1951, in Angola, Ind., as Frances Lacopo, she married Dewey Tucker. She is survived by her loving husband, Dewey, of 54 years. Also surviving are three daughters, Martha Thompson of Osceola, Ind.; Janice (Gary) Rhodes of Westerville, Ohio; and Karen (Eric) Halbert of South Bend; and a son, Dewey A. (Tammy) Tucker of Mishawaka. Ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson; and two sisters, Mary Jane Hinsey of Niles, Mich., and Dolly Harringer of South Bend also survive her.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Dean Lacopo on April 19, 1998, and two sisters, Katherine Stopper on March 26, 2004, and Josephine "Cookie" Ketner on September 7, 2004.
Services will be conducted at noon, Monday, November 14, in Palmer Funeral Home-River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend. Rev. Ed Erskin will officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. The family will receive friends from 2:00 - 6:00 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 13, in the funeral home.
