Anthony Wayne “T-Wayne” Alley
Feb. 21, 1951 – April 29, 2004
Anthony Wayne “T-Wayne” Alley, 53, formerly of South Bend, Ind., departed this life after a lengthy illness on Thursday, April 29, in his home in Dresden, Tenn. He was born to the union of Barbara and the late Frank Wayne Alley on Feb.21, 1951, in Dres- den.Anthony moved to South Bend in 1955. He graduated from Adams High School in South Bend and received an associate degree from Ivy Tech College, South Bend. He was previously employed by Auto Zone as a manager.
On Sept. 23, 1989, he married the former Barbara “Babs” Tate. He was a member of the Saint James CME Church in Dresden.
Anthony leaves to cherish his loving memory his wife, Barbara Tate-Alley; and his beloved mother, Barbara J.Alley of South Bend; four children: Lee (Brenda) Alley of Richardson, Texas, a stepson, Kenneth L.Tate of South Bend, and two daughters, Antoinette (Sekou) Easton and Christy Alley of South Bend; 10 grandchildren, Shanel Alley of Atlanta, Ga., Zachery and Lee Jr. of Richardson, Antonio, Sekou Jr. and Quentin Easton, Christopher Washington, Kenneth Tate Jr. and India Tate, all of South Bend, and Ashley Alley of Chicago, Ill. He is also survived by two sisters, Casinia (Dennis) Dixon and Debra Bonds of South Bend; four uncles, Charles (Shirley) Alley, Joseph and Roland Alley of Dresden, and Franklin Rogers of Alhambra, Calif.; a mother-in-law, Ruth Tate of South Bend; an aunt, Ethel Robertson of East Saint Louis, Ill.; four sisters-in-law, Dorothy (Leroy) Jones, Dora (John) Engram of Chicago, Margaret (Carlton) Thomas and Marilyn Take of South Bend; two brothers-in-law, David T.Tate of Chicago and Arthur Tate of South Bend; and a host of many family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Wayne Alley; a grandfather, Kelly Rogers Sr.; a grandmother, Mary Ruth Alley; two uncles, Ray and Kelly Rogers Jr.; two aunts, Mary Green and Marian Jones; a niece, Terry-Michelle Bonds; and by a nephew, Koizen Coley.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 6, in Saint James CME Church in Dresden.Friends may call two hours before services. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Bowlin Funeral Home, Dresden
