Patrick “Pat” M. Hedman, 58, of South Bend, passed away on Wednesday, January 30th in the St. Joseph Regional Medical Center of Mishawaka. Patrick was born on August 11, 1960 to Garlin and Joanne (Heddens) Hedman. Patrick was a Journeyman with Alcoa in LaPorte at the time of his death, but had worked at Gunnite Industries for twenty years prior to their closing. Patrick had a special place in his heart for animals; especially cats.

Patrick is survived by his daughter, Bethany Hedman of South Bend, a grandson, Archer Meyers, three brothers, Larry (Mila) Hedman of Florida, James “Chris” Hedman of South Bend, and Joel (Lavinda) Hedman of Idaho. He is also survived by a goddaughter, Melissa (Aaron) Gushwa of South Bend, the mother of his daughter, Anita Shultz of South Bend, cousin, Jerome Kreczmer of Delray Beach, Florida, his aunt, Leslie (Jerome) Kreczmer of Mishawaka, an uncle, Fred (Beverly) Heddens of Huntsville, Alabama, along with many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Gregory Hedman.

Friends may visit with the family on Friday, February 8th from 4:00 until 8:00pm and one hour prior to the service on Saturday in the Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka. A service will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, February 9th in the funeral chapel with Fr. Christopher Lapp officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Fairview Cemetery of Mishawaka. Memorial contributions may be made in Patrick’s name to the Humane Society of St. Joseph County, 2506 Grape Rd., Mishawaka, IN 46545.
