Philip Alan Boykin Alpha - June 18, 1957 Omega - June 21, 2025 Philip Alan Boykin, a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, cherished brother, uncle, cousin, friend and proud veteran, entered eternal rest on June 21, 2025. Born June 18, 1957, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Philip Alan Boykin was the eldest son of the late Henry Alfred Boykin and the late Mary Frances Wilson. From an early age, Philip showed a deep passion for music, a love that would resonate throughout his entire life. He found joy and solace in melodies, whether it was singing his favorite Al Green song or just listening to music. Music was not just a hobby; it was a part of his soul. Philip answered the call to serve his country; he proudly enlisted in the United States Army, where he achieved the title of Sergeant. His dedication to service was a testament to his character and patriotism. After his service, he dedicated over 14 years to the City of Fort Wayne as a Water Technician before retiring. After retirement, he relocated to Atlanta, Georgia. Philip is survived by his wife, Sonya Lewis-Boykin, his five beautiful daughters, Jamila Boykin, Shamika Boykin, Tamara Boykin of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Alicia (Jerry) Nugent of Feasterville, Pennsylvania, Natalia (Rashaad) Coward of Houston, Texas along with eleven grandchildren. He also leaves behind nine loving siblings, Alicia Boykin and Cynthia Winn of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Patricia (Michael) McDonald of Indianapolis, Indiana, Jamison Boykin, Anjela Anderson, and Christopher (Kim) Boykin of Atlanta, Georgia, Rosetta (Don) Morse of South Bend, Indiana, Adam (Nicole) Wilson of Crown Point, Indiana and Marcus (Camilla) Wilson of St. Louis, Missouri. His memory will also be cherished by his stepfather, Donald Wilson and a host of nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Belinda Jean Mikell and two great nephews, Noah Levi Comer-Price and Johnathon McDonald-Fleming. Philip's memory will forever echo in the music we hear and the love we share. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave. Fort Wayne, Indiana.
